What to Expect in a Typical Session

Below is a detailed list of all the services we offer along with a brief description of each service!

Mobility Coaching
In person or Virtual, Customized programming to address aching muscles and joints.  We will analyze your posture to determine any imbalances, test your strength and flexibility, analyze movement patterns to see where compensation occurs.  I will coach you through self-care techniques, corrective exercises to re-program movements, and may include manual therapy treatment as well.

Postural/Gait Analysis
A thorough in depth analysis involves measurement from head to feet structural positioning, may include photos against a grid to document structural posture and progression of changes over a set period of time, analysis from front to back and from left to right any imbalances that may indicate muscle compensation and/or strengths and weaknesses.

Kinesio Taping
Rehabilitative taping that helps facilitate the natural healing of soft tissue by supporting and stabilizing joint mobility, lymphatic drainage, and myofascial release.

Pilates
An exercise systems that strengthens the core promoting movement stemming from the powerhouse. Key points are moving in length and opposition of the muscle, moving through the joint, and decompressing the spine.

Swedish

a relaxation massage which includes four strokes:

A – effleurage – long flowing strokes

B – petrissage – kneading and separating of muscles fibers

C – friction – generate heat and bring blood to the surface

D – tapotement – hitting type strokes.

Deep Tissue
Uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish but uses deeper pressure and moves beyond the superficial layer of soft tissue. It is a more focused type of massage to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions.”)

Sports Massage
Not strictly defined, generally used on someone who has just performed an athletic event or to prepare a person for an event, involves isolated stretching, client is dressed and no oil or lotion is used.

PNF Stretching
(Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) The muscle to be stretched is under tension and the individual then contracts the muscle for about 5 seconds while the therapist applies resistance against movement. The contracted muscle group is then released and a stretch is applied for about 30 seconds. There is about 15 to 30 seconds to recover and the process is repeated 2 – 4 times.

Pre-natal/Pregnancy
Massage for the special needs of pregnant women done side-lying and propped with pillows.  We are happy to provide services up to delivery date as long as client is cleared by Physician.

Trigger Point Therapy
A hypercontracted knot, involves intense compression paired with deep breathing, and followed by applying cold packs to the area worked to prevent soreness and bruising.

Myofascial release
The turning or pressing of the fascia (connective tissue that covers the muscle) to allow stretching and lengthening of the underlying muscles.

Cupping/Graston Therapy
Cupping is a form of therapy that uses cups to create a suction on the skin, lifting fascia, connective tissue, and muscles to lift adhesions as well as increase blood flow.

Graston is a form of therapy that scrapes the superficial layer of skin to re-align myofascia, creating healthy inflammation, and increasing blood flow and circulation.

Pranic Healing
What is Pranic Healing? The concept that your energetic body supercedes your physical body. Unhealthy, dirty, energy can manifest into ailments in the physical and by nourishing and keeping your energetic body healthy, your physical body follows. Pranic healing is a no touch modality to cleanse the aura and balance the chakras energy flow so that both mind and body stay healthy.
